Tank Tops
July 20, 2011

Before moving to Texas I didn’t have very many tank tops.  I’m not exactly a girl who can get away with wearing a strapless bra so a lot of tanks are out of the question for me because I’m not a strap showing kind of girl.  I’ve slowly started to build my tank collection.  I only allow myself $25 a month for clothing.  You’d be surprised how far that stretches when you are super selective in what you buy and you find ridiculous sales.  This top was one of those finds.  I ran into Limited when they were having their 50% off sale merchandise this past week and came out with 2 tops that totaled less than $10 together.  The first one I wore on Saturday while we worked around the house and then I nannied all evening.  I think it was originally $35 and I scored this one at 90% off for $3.50…I need to go back and see if they have more in other colors.

Paired with really old shorts from Old Navy...like from Highschool and Gap sandals

A bracelet I inherited from my Grandmother's jewelry collection, I really love this piece.

After Much Pondering
January 30, 2011

I’ve decided not to participate in this edition of the 30 for 30 challenge. I got 4 comments and I had said if I had 5 I would do it. I took it as a sign that I really shouldn’t commit to such an undertaking at this time in my life. For those of you who don’t know me personally I just moved to Texas about a month ago and we’re living at my brother and sister-in-laws house. We purchased a house and will be closing mid-February. With this move came the necessity to store about 85% of our belongings including most of my clothes. You might be saying,”Laura, with most of your clothes packed it should be EASY to pick your items.”. Believe me I thought this at first until I took a good look at my closet and realized nothing really goes together and I mostly have jeans and black which doesn’t make for very good remixing. Also let me be really honest with you, from the 17th-27th I’ll be wearing paint clothes as we work on our little fixer upper! This does not mean that I won’t be posting because I have good intentions to get back on here and I’ll be following some of you remixers and posting link love on here from time to time. So don’t give up on me yet, it’s still my mission to dress on the cheap and now with my new house I might be showing you some home trends on the cheap as well.
